Mr. Geis has 27 years of experience advising and raising capital for financial services firms. He has assisted both major global finance companies and new startups in the finance industry.

Prior to founding LEHNS Capital Advisory in 2015, from 2009 to 2015 Mr. Geis was one of three Managing Directors at Falconbridge Capital Markets, a boutique financial services-focused investment bank. While at this firm, Mr. Geis opened the Charlotte, NC office and built a consumer finance focused practice, providing debt and equity capital raising services, strategic advisory and operational consulting to clients. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Geis was a Managing Director and senior originator in SunTrust Robinson Humphrey’s securitization practice, joining to expand the firm’s securitization efforts, having previously headed PNC Capital Market’s Financial Services Securitization Practice. Mr. Geis joined PNC in 2004 from i3 Capital Partners, a boutique financial services advisory firm he co-founded.

From 1994 to 2002, Mr. Geis held various senior roles at Wells Fargo Securities where he started the quantitative analytics desk for Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) structuring and served as a portfolio manager for a $3 billion portfolio of ABS.

Mr. Geis started his securitization career at Lewtan Technologies, a software firm supporting the securitization industry that was subsequently acquired by Moody’s Corporation and his initial consumer finance experience came in analyzing consumer attrition behavior for customers of the Franklin Mint. He has also authored articles and unique research on financial services issues.

Stephen earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 

He holds Series 7 and 63 registrations.

Mr. Geis was a founder and Board Chairman of Keystone Montessori School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He subsequently served as a Director and Chair of the school’s Development Committee and currently serves on the advisory board of Gant Medical, Inc.

On a personal note, Mr. Geis is married with four children. He enjoys photography and indoor cycling.
